Five Crowns Score Sheet

Eleven rounds, and the sheet tells you which rank is wild in each one. Log what everyone was left holding, and the running totals do the rest — lowest score after the Kings round takes it.

The eleven rounds

Jokers are wild throughout. The rank in the right-hand column is wild for that round on top of them, and counts 20 points if you are still holding it at the end.

How Five Crowns scoring works

Five Crowns is progressive rummy with a fifth suit and a wild card that moves. Every round you try to turn your whole hand into books and runs, and every round you have one more card to place — but also one more rank that counts as anything you like. Going out first is worth nothing by itself; the reward is that everyone else has to stop where they are and count. Number cards cost their face value, the picture cards eleven through thirteen, a stranded Joker fifty and a stranded wild twenty, so a hand caught mid-meld in the Kings round can hand over sixty points in one go. Eleven rounds of that add up fast, and the totals rarely look the way people expect until they are written down.

FAQ

Five Crowns scoring: common questions

The rank matching the deal size goes wild. Round one deals three cards and the 3s are wild, round two deals four and the 4s are wild, and so on up to the eleventh round where thirteen cards are dealt and the Kings go wild. Jokers are wild in every single round. This sheet labels each round with its wild rank so nobody has to count backwards to remember.
