Hearts Score Tracker

Dodge the queen, count the damage. Log each hand's penalty points, get warned when a hand doesn't add up to 26, and see who survives when someone hits 100.

How Hearts scoring works

Hearts is a trick-avoidance game: the cards you win are mostly cards you did not want. Each heart is worth 1 penalty point and the queen of spades a painful 13, putting exactly 26 points into play every hand. The exception is shooting the moon — deliberately capturing all 26, which hands every opponent 26 points instead. The game ends the moment any player reaches 100, and the lowest total wins. Because every hand must sum to 26, this tracker checks your entries as you save and flags miscounts on the spot, which settles most family scoring arguments before they start.

FAQ

Hearts scoring: common questions

Every heart you take in tricks costs 1 point and the queen of spades costs 13, so each hand deals out 26 penalty points. Points are bad. Hands repeat until any player reaches 100 points, and the player with the lowest total at that moment wins the game.
