Qwixx Score Sheet

The scorecard is the game, so this one plays by the rules. It crosses only left to right, keeps the last number in each row out of reach until you have five crosses, locks a row for everybody when somebody takes it, and totals all four colours as you go.

Qwixx scoring table

A row pays on how many crosses it holds, not which numbers they were. The jumps get steeper the further you go, which is why four more crosses late in a row is worth far more than four at the start.

Crosses123456789101112

Twelve is the ceiling: eleven numbers in the row plus the lock. Every penalty box costs 5 points off the total, and four of them end the game.

How Qwixx actually works

Six dice get rolled: two white and one in each of the four colours. The active player may cross the sum of the two white dice in any row, and may then also cross the sum of one white die and one coloured die in that colour's row. Everyone else gets only the white sum, optionally. That is the whole engine, and it is why Qwixx never has a dull turn: you are always doing something, even on someone else's roll.

The tension is all in the left-to-right rule. Crossing a 9 in red feels free until you notice you just threw away the 3 through 8 behind it, and the scoring scale rewards long rows far more than scattered ones. Meanwhile the active player who crosses nothing has to take a penalty, so the roll that helps nobody still costs the person who threw it. Keeping all of that straight on a paper pad while four people argue is exactly where mistakes creep in, which is the gap this sheet fills.

FAQ

Qwixx scoring: common questions

Each colour row pays by how many crosses it has, on a rising scale: 1 cross is 1 point, 2 is 3, 3 is 6, and so on up to 12 crosses for 78. Add the four rows together, then subtract 5 for every penalty box you had to mark. The numbers themselves never matter, only how many of them you crossed.
